Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has finalized the names of some of its members to be included in the federal cabinet to be formed with Shehbaz Sharif as its head, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that following consultations between PPP bigwigs at Zardari House, it had been agreed that Syed Khursheed Shah, Syed Naveed Qmar, Sherry Rehman, Shazia Marri, Abdul Qadir Patel and Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood would represent the party in the cabinet.
Apart from that, sources added, PPP had also recommended the name of party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the post of foreign minister, while Sherry Rehman would be given the ministry of her choice.
Similarly, they disclosed that Farooq H. Naek might get the slot of foreign minister.
Earlier, there were reports that PPP was not interested in joining the federal cabinet but the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) insisted that its members, too, should be part of the government, formed after the ouster of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government following the passage of a no-confidence motion on the night between April 9 and April 10, 2022, so that there could be stability in the new setup.
