Chinese youth have recreated the Pakistani song Dosti (friendship) sung by legend Nazia Hassan.
The remake has been posted on the YouTube channel titled 'ISB NewYouth'.
“We sang the song of Pakistan 'Dosti' in the Urdu language,” it writes in the description box. "Long live the friendship between China and Pakistan” it added.
The channel has a unique way – the work of young diplomats – to raise awareness about the Global Development Initiative.
On 21 September 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Development Initiative and next year, he presided over a dialogue on global development titled ‘Foster a Global Development Partnership for the New Era to Jointly Implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
Reportedly, the indicative is aimed at supporting the timely achievement of all 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by revitalizing global development partnerships, and promoting stronger, greener and healthier global development.
As of October 2022, more than 100 countries and international organizations expressed their support to the initiative and 68 countries joined the Group of Friends of the GDI.
On the channel, the young diplomats explain the priority areas too. It also has informal deliberations upon CPEC and more is coming soon.
The initiative upholds the core principles of staying committed to development as a priority; staying committed to a people-centred approach; staying committed to benefits for all to leave no country and no one behind; staying committed to innovation-driven development; staying committed to harmony between human and nature; and staying committed to results-oriented actions.
It promotes international cooperation in poverty alleviation, food security, pandemic response and vaccines, financing for development, climate change and green development, industrialization, digital economy and connectivity in the digital era.
The initiative lends fresh impetus to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by revitalizing the global development partnership, mobilising international development resources, deepening development cooperation, and bridging the North-South gap. It is aimed at stronger, greener and healthier global development.
