Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah has asserted that elections will not be held on May 14 despite all pressure being asserted by the opposition, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Faisalabad on Sunday, he said that elections will not be held on May 14 at any cost rather the elections will take place simultaneously on its time this year.
Rana Sanaullah said that the opposition’s tactics to pressurise the government will be failed and the elections will be conducted this year under the supervision of the caretaker government.
He, however, advised the workers of the PML-N to continue the election campaign and preparations.
The minister said that the PDM government led by PML-N executed historic development projects in the communication, health, and education sectors across the country. “The people reposed their trust in the PML(N) due to development and prosperity.”
He vowed not to forget those leaders who stood with the party in the hour of difficulty.
Rana Sanaullah said no development project was started during the tenure of PTI. He said that Imran Khan signed an agreement with the IMF under very tough terms and conditions.
He said that the survival of Pakistan is intact just because of its nuclear capability, which was attained during the tenure of Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Taking a jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, he said that this ‘evil’ was imposed on the country through a conspiracy and his policies destroyed the national economy. He claimed that the prices of essential commodities like flour, sugar, and petrol were low at the end of the PML-N government in 2018.
He said that the PML-N government will bring the country of crisis under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and development works will be restarted soon. He also informed that Nawaz Sharif would come to Pakistan as soon as the announcement of the election date.
