The federal government has also announced a reduction in the prices of roti and naan in Islamabad in a move mirroring recent developments in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The federal capital's district administration has issued a notification in this regard.
The new price of roti has been set at Rs16, while the price of naan has been fixed at Rs20.
This adjustment, applicable to both 120-gram roti and naan, comes as part of efforts to alleviate the financial burden on consumers.
The notification, effective immediately, underscores the commitment of the federal government to address concerns regarding the affordability of essential food items. It highlights the proactive stance of authorities in Islamabad to ensure fair pricing and accessibility for residents.
Assistant commissioners and price control magistrates across the capital have been directed by the Islamabad deputy commissioner to enforce the new pricing regulations diligently.
On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a reduction in the price of roti to Rs16 per piece, effective immediately.
