The Palestinian Embassy in Pakistan has categorically refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the adoption of 3,000 Palestinian children in Pakistan, labelling the news as fake and illegal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
In a statement issued by the embassy spokesperson, the embassy condemned the dissemination of such false information, emphasizing that the sponsorship of Palestinian orphans should strictly adhere to the policy of the State of Palestine, which permits sponsorship only within the borders of Palestine.
"It is illegal and against our policy for Palestinian orphans to be sponsored outside the state," stated the spokesperson, highlighting the need for caution and verification before making any donations or sponsoring orphans purportedly from Palestine.
The embassy clarified that no Palestinian orphans have arrived in Pakistan, urging individuals to refrain from spreading fake news and making unauthorized appeals for donations on behalf of the Palestinian people.
"We want to draw attention to the seriousness of these fake news reports and the allegations of unauthorized donation appeals," the spokesperson remarked, emphasizing the importance of contacting the Palestinian Embassy directly for any legitimate assistance or support initiatives.
Assuring the public of their commitment to addressing the matter, the embassy spokesperson stated that the embassy would collaborate with Pakistani authorities to investigate and take necessary action against those responsible for spreading false information.
Expressing gratitude for the cooperation received from the Pakistani government, military, and various institutions, the Palestinian Embassy acknowledged the support provided by Pakistani authorities and organizations in sending aid to Gaza and Palestine.
"We appreciate the efforts of Pakistani institutions and individuals who have worked through recognized channels to provide assistance to Palestine," the spokesperson remarked, reassuring the public that donations sent through official channels, including the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDMA, Al-Khidmat Foundation, Pakistan Red Crescent, and other reputable organizations, were reaching those in need in Gaza and Palestine.
The embassy concluded by reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of Palestinian children and ensuring that all assistance provided to Palestine is legitimate and reaches its intended recipients through authorized channels.
