The flights operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was in disarray on Monday as several of its flights were facing hours-long display and one flight left 50 travellers stranded at Jeddah Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PIA flight PK-732 coming to Karachi from Jeddah was facing a delay of over four hours. Another flight from Karachi to Islamabad PK-300 was also delayed for over six hours now.
The long delays have prompted the air travellers to stage a protest against the airline.
According to sources, a PIA flight left 50 of its passengers behind at Jeddah Airport when it was realized that the plane was too small for so many passengers.
The flight was due to land in Islamabad from Jeddah on Sunday. It was decided to reduce the number of passengers which were mostly Umrah pilgrims.
The stranded passengers faced numerous difficulties in Jeddah asking the PIA high-ups to take notice of the incident.
A PIA spokesman said that the 50 passengers have been shifted to a hotel. A special plane will be sent to Jeddah on Monday to bring those 50 passengers back, he added.
