Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended a hardened terrorist Sajjad alias Bablu during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) near Ghakar Phatak area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHDTV channel on Wednesday.
DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh said that the hardcore terrorist was affiliated with Sindh Revolutionary Army (SRA) and he was planning to blow up up-track of Pakistan Railways with an IED device near Bohar village in Hyderabad.
The DIG said that the arrested terrorist was waiting for provision of IED explosive material from last few days.
The terrorist is also a close aide of SRA Commander Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmad Chandio and he was taking instructions from these two terrorists.
The DIG also revealed that some members of SRA are involved in brainwashing of youths urging them to join the SRA and take part in its gatherings.
DIG Asif Ijaz Sheikh said that the arrested terrorist was also engaged in delivering messages to other members of the group which includes Ghulam Shabbir Mallah, Bashir Ahmad, Sarang Ali and Bashir Shar.
Members of this group also holding regular meetings with Arbab Bhel who is currently imprisoned in Hyderabad jail also providing them ration.
Further investigation was under way.
