The federal government on Monday announced a uniform electricity tariff for the industries across the country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the uniform tariff of electricity for industrial consumers would be Rs12.96 per unit.
The same electricity tariff would also apply to industrial customers of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
The uniform tariff was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in a meeting chaired by Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen in Islamabad.
As per the declaration issued by the ECC, the uniform tariff would be applicable till December 31, 2021.
