An illegal transaction of Rs70m besides several other irregularities has been detected in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Ehsaas Rashan Programme in the Punjab province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a report submitted by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) to the higher authorities, it is pointed out that citizens are receiving cash instead of purchasing goods at grocery stores while shopkeepers keep Rs800 and give Rs3,400 to the customer.

Likewise, unusual transactions of more than Rs70 million have also taken place in the program.

All the records related to these illegal transactions and the data related to the shopkeepers have also been presented to the government.

The report further stated most of the cases of irregularities and illegal transactions by using wrong data have been reported from South Punjab.

The PSPA further apprised the higher officials that in most of the districts, transactions worth Rs500,000 were also done in a single day.

The report reveals that most of the shopkeepers who did the transactions did not even have any permanent addresses.

The officials of PSPA said that legal action will be taken against the cheaters in the ongoing program and a more stringent policy is being prepared to prevent cases of fraud in this program.
