The Government of Punjab has decided to restart the transport service project of the Blue Line and the Purple Line in Lahore on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the provincial government has allowed the transport department to negotiate with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for technical and financial support on the project.
The channel report said the Punjab Transport Department gave a briefing to the government regarding the study under the Rapid Transport System in the provincial capital city.
In the briefing, the public department informed the government about the details of the launch of the Blue and Purple Line project after the Metro Bus and the Orange Line Train in Lahore.
According to the authorities, the Blue and Purple Line project will be launched after Metro Bus and Orange Line Train under the mass transit system.
On the other hand, the Punjab government has informed all the provincial departments about the plan for the Blue and Purple Line project so that no development projects around the Blue Line and Purple Line project areas are started in the future.
According to the study, Blue Line will be constructed from Valencia Town to Babu Sabu and Purple Line from Lahore Airport to Bhati Chowk.
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has asked the authorities to complete the work for the start of the Blue Line project from Kalma Chowk to Airport in the first phase.
According to the officials, five years ago, the cost for the completion of these projects was estimated at Rs250 billion but now a new estimate will be made by preparing a new feasibility of the project.
