Rejecting the recent hike in petroleum product’s (POL) prices, Karachi Goods Transporters’ Association announced to increase one-way fare by 25 percent from Rs10, 000 and Rs12,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Association President Rana Muhammad Aslam demanded the government to withdraw the notification issued in this regard.
“It is unfortunate that even the levy has been added to the total rates of these products, making them even more expensive. All this is being done on the dictates of the IMF,” he regretted.
He said at a time when rising inflation had already dented people’s businesses, it was difficult to imagine how people would bear higher transportation costs.
