Commenting on the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), PPP leader and Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman said on Thursday that the party Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders, instead of leading from the front, were asking the workers to turn themselves into police first, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a series of tweets, she said that the PTI had announced that 200 party workers from Peshawar and an equal number of workers from Lahore will surrender to police. “But Imran and other party leaders are nowhere in the picture,” she said, adding, “The fact is that PTI workers are being made the ‘scapegoat’.”
PPP leader said that leaders led from the front. “But here the case is opposite. Here the party chief is approaching courts for bails in different cases,” she said, adding, “But the same party head is directing his workers to surrender to police.”
“Come on Imran! Better lead from the front,” Sherry said.
She expressed surprise that how people could respond to the call of a man, who was himself seeking bails from courts on medical grounds, but directs his workers to start the ‘Jail Bharo’ movement.
Same was not the case, she went on to say, when Asif Ali Zardari was facing cases. “He would rush to the courts even when he was at a hospital,” she said, and demanded an end to what she called different treatment being meted out to Imran and Zardari.
