In order to curb VIP culture and end financial crisis in cricket, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi banned free VIP passes for PLS 9 gala, reported 24NewHD TV channel.
PCB chief directed that ticket for VIP boxes should also be placed for sale. Now VIPs will be able to watch matches after paying for their tickets.
Moreover, PCB ended the special protocol on arrival of VVIPs in the stadium. 25 percent free tickets for franchises were also banned.
Mohsin Naqvi also issued instructions to stop traditional khaba culture as in the past, crores of rupees were spent on it. Chairman PCB claimed that all possible steps will be taken to make PCB a profitable board.
Earlier, PCB Board of Governors approved 1.93 billion rupees funds for PSL-9.
PCB was expecting to receive 2.5 billion rupees revenue from PSL 9 events.
The funds for purchasing of digital scanners were approved for Multan and Rawalpindi stadiums.
PCB Board of Governors also restored Islamabad Cricket Association. A committee was set up to probe the causes which led to the suspension of this board.
