Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed the fear that the government wants to steal the Senate elections through the rich people in its fold.

Addressing a press conference at Bilawal House in Karachi on Saturday, Bilawal said, “The government’s ATMs want to steal the Senate elections.” He called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce its verdict in the foreign funding case involving the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as soon as possible. He asked the ECP to name the individuals and the countries who were funding the PTI and the kind of benefits they are getting now since the PTI is in power.

Bilawal said there was a constitutional way to send the incompetent government of Prime Minister Imran Khan home. He said the government could be toppled by bringing up a no-confidence move against the prime minister. He said the PPP would try to convince the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 11 opposition parties currently trying to topple the federal government, on this point.

The PPP chairman said the incumbent government led by the PTI had left the masses at the mercy of price hike. He said the PPP was ready to talk to any political party, which acknowledged the Charter of Democracy (CoD), which was signed by former political archrivals Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif more than a decade ago.
