Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday claimed that 30 to 40 people, and not 23, would have been dead in Murree had he not visited the hill station soon after the tragedy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, he categorically told the opposition parties that their long march towards Islamabad would not bear fruits no matter how many times they set out towards the federal capital.
The minister made it clear to these parties that there would be far more people to witness Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad on March 23 than the number of participants in their march.
Responding to Leader of the Opposition and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks in which he had said that he was a nightmare for Prime Minister Imran Khan, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said, “Shehbaz, you are not a nightmare, but a beautiful dream for him.”
Rasheed said those daydreaming to bring in-house change in the parliament were like blind dolphins.
He further said that the opposition would fail to muster the support of the required number of legislators in case they brought a no-confidence move against the prime minister in the parliament.
“The country’s economic situation will improve after April. The next budget will be comparatively better,” he claimed.
