The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has terminated the basic membership of six more members, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The PTI terminated the basic membership of Haji Shaukat Ali, Mujahid Maitla, Nadia Aziz, Salim Briar, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Usman Tarakai from the party.
An official notification was issued with the signature of PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan.
According to the notification, the members were informed that their press conferences were circulated and widely broadcasted on various media forums in which they announced to quit the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
“Therefore, the PTI hereby terminates your basic membership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf with immediate effect. You are directed to refrain from using the party's name, designation and/or membership in any manner whatsoever. In case of violation, the party will take legal action against you,” the notice concluded.
Show-cause notice issued to two GB Assembly members
Meanwhile, a show-cause notice was issued to the PTI representatives for deviating from the party policy during the Gilgit-Baltistan election.
Show cause notices were issued to GB MLA Fateh Ullah Khan and Hashmat Ullah Khan.
The party has notified to them that they voted against the decision of the party and found involved in the conspiracy against the PTI during the election in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The party asked them to submit an explanation in writing within three days. If the notice is not answered or is unsatisfactory, further action will be taken as per the party policy and rules, the notice warned them.
Barrister Gohar appointed PTI CEC
Separately, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been appointed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chief Election Commissioner.
PTI Chairman gave his approval for Mr Gohar’s appointment as the party CEC.
A notification in this regard has been issued with the signature of PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub.
