Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday ordered to release of three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf UC chairman candidates who were arrested during a protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, Raja Faisal, Malik Parvez, and Afzal Khan are among those who were arrested by the Islamabad Police under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Ordinance (MPO).
IHC Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan issued the verdict in which he declared their detention under 3 MPO as illegal and ordered their release.
The court issued a written decree for the conditional release of PTI leaders.
The court observed that there is no restriction on being a part of the protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran without disturbing the law and order situation.
“The petitioner should give an affidavit that they will not be a part of any activity that would lead to disturbing the law and order situation.”
The three leaders were released from jail after submitting their affidavits.
