Robot to help Karachi Bomb Disposal Squad to detect, defuse devices

The bomb disposal squad, a subsidiary of the Special Branch Police in Karachi, has been provided with an EOD robot developed by Pakistani experts which has the ability to detect the bomb as well as defuse it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Bomb Disposal Squad demonstrated the robot’s performance at the exhibition square.

Saeed Abbas, in-charge of Bomb Disposal Squad said that the EOD robot has been named Haider-3 which can be controlled by remote.  

Saeed Abbas said that Hyder-3 is able to find and defuse the bomb.

It is also equipped with modern cameras that record moment by moment, Saeed Abbas said.

The performance of the robot is monitored on the control panel.
