The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notice and sought reply from Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in Director Local Fund Audit Zubair Farooq's corruption case on the petition of citizen Mahmood Ali, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Ayesha A Malik heard the contempt of court petition on Wednesday and issued notice to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and sought reply from the Punjab chief executive.
Imran Sheikh Advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioner and pleaded that a corruption case against Director Local Fund (Audit) Zaheer Farooq was registered in 2018 and inquiry order was also issued by the Chief Minister.
Advocate Imran Sheikh said the then secretary finance issued the order of major penalty after inquiry but Chief Minister Usman Buzdar changed the major penalty into a minor penalty. He argued that the court should issue an order to change the minor penalty to a major penalty and punish the Director Local Government Fund Audit Zaheer Farooq.
