The University of Health Sciences (UHC) in Lahore doubled the research grants by 100 percent for students, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
UHC Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Javed Akram said that the institute was the only medical university who had been spending more than 10 percent of its budget on research.
The varsity has increased the research grant of M.Phil students from Rs125,000 to Rs250,000.
On the other hand, the research grant for Ph.D students has been increased from Rs400,000 to Rs700,000.
Also, students will be receiving as allowance equivalent to yearly fees on getting their research paper published.
Prof Javed Akram said, “UHS gets higher rankings on the basis of its research performance.”
UHS has set aside Rs170.6 million for the research in the next fiscal year.
