The Punjab cabinet has approved the change in the Service and Promotion Rules of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar said that the best service and promotion structure had been created for the CTD corporals.
“The CTD corporals will now be promoted as under officers in grade 14 instead of grade 12,” Dr Usman Anwar said.
“After amendments to the rules, a corporal recruited in grade 11 will be able to progress up to grade 19,” he added.
CM takes notice of child’s death in manhole
Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed grief and regret over the death of a child who fell into a manhole in Naz Town, Kahna area, Lahore.
The chief minister expressed heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of the deceased child.
He also sought a report from the Lahore division commissioner on the incident.
“The incident should be investigated and those responsible for the negligence should be identified,” he ordered.
The chief minister also ordered a legal and departmental action against those responsible for negligence in the light of inquiry.
“Open manholes should be covered immediately,” he directed.
