In an effort to curb the spread of coronavirus, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has barred the visitors and drivers from entering the airports.
According to the decision, only the passengers would now be able to enter the airports. This was decided in a high-level meeting of the Civil Aviation Authority amid coronavirus fear.
According to the decision, no one would be allowed to enter airports rather than the passenger himself. The passenger will have to shift his luggage by his or her own.
Only the driver of the passenger would be allowed to enter the airport premises. ” The drivers would be allowed to park their vehicles in the parking areas of the airports.”
The CAA has appealed the citizens to avoid unnecessary visits to the airports as it could become a source of virus spread.
Earlier, the authorities had ordered regular fumigation at the airports.
The government has already suspended international flights from Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta airports. Only Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore are currently dealing with international operations of different airlines.
There have been reports of lack of effective measures at airports, including screening at arrivals, but the situation has been improving, especially at Karachi.
