Punjab reports its second coronavirus case in Multan

Punjab has registered its second coronavirus case after the first was reported in Lahore on Saturday night.
According to 24NewsHD and Rohi TV, the new case was reported at Nishtar Hospital in Multan on Monday.
The TV channels reported that the patient came from Iran.
It may be mentioned here that the authorities have made arrangements for screening the pilgrim coming back from Iran. These include quarantine centres at the border town of Taftan, Sukkur and DI Khan.
On Sunday, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan had confirmed the first coronavirus patient being treated at Lahore’s Mayo Hospital.
According to the spokesperson of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, the patient who had recently come from abroad was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night.
City42 television channel first broke the news after midnight on Saturday. The 54-year-old virus patient, who came to Pakistan from the UK on March 10, was brought to the hospital after he showed symptoms of the coronavirus infection. In addition, the authorities conducted tests on all the people who had been close to the patient, which all came out negative.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government on Monday reported a total of 88 coronavirus cases in the province taking the national tally to 107.
The new cases from Sindh added to the tally from other regions of the country which are eight cases in Balochistan, six in Islamabad, three in Gilgit Baltistan and two are reported from Punjab.
According to 24NewsHD television channel, the condition of two coronavirus patients at Islamabad’s PIMS hospital is very serious.
