Hurling ‘Wehshi Jatt’ jibe at Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Wednesday said that the government did not have a personal grudge with anyone, but, no one would be allowed to take law into own hands.

According to the report broadcasted by 24NewsHD TV channel, the interior minister said while talking to media in Islamabad that the government would provide protection to the opposition parties preparing for a long march on Islamabad.

“But any violation of the law will not be tolerated. Protecting the lives and properties of the people is the responsibility of the interior ministry, and the interior ministry will ensure implementation of the law in letter and spirit,” he vowed.

“Whether we win or lose in the no-confidence motion, people will be benefited,” he pointed out.

He also flayed JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and dubbed him ‘Wehshi Jatt’.

“After the no-confidence motion, you will give ‘Azans’ in public squares for next 10 years, but no one will listen to you,” he told the opposition.

“The opposition is allowed to come to Islamabad on specified routes. They will be given protection. But if you touch the law, we will not spare you,” he warned.

To a question, he said that he had no knowledge of the government’s meetings with allies. “Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar holding meetings with the allies,” he said and advised the allies to stand by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The interior minister also claimed that the popularity of Imran Khan grew over the past three weeks and added that everything would become crystal clear from March 25.
