Police Monday arrested 11 people, including the son of a police officer, in a raid on a snooker club in Wazirabad town of Punjab province.
The son of police officers is the club owner and he has taken to the police station where his father is posted.
The assistant commissioner said no one was above the law and warned the violation of anti-covid SOPs would not be acceptable. He said the administration would make sure the enforcement of coronavirus SOPs.
The Punjab government has imposed lockdown till May 16 during the Eid holidays following the advice of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
However, NCOC turned down the proposals of the Punjab government to extend a complete lockdown. The centre has decided to ease restrictions by relaxing working hours for businesses and restoration of public transport with 50% occupancy.
