After avoiding arrest moments after his release, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry finally managed to get relief as the Islamabad High Court has barred the police from arresting him in an “undisclosed” case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The order was issued by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
During the hearing, the judge said that the advocate general had only informed the court about two cases registered against Fawad because of which the IHC had only granted the PTI leader bail in two cases.
Earlier, an interesting scene was witnessed when PTI Senior Vice President and former information minister Fawad Chaudhry sprinted back to the Islamabad High Court which released him a few moments ago after seeing police outside the court.
The TV channel showed that the PTI leader was going to his car after securing his release order by the Islamabad High Court in a case registered against him under 3MPO. But, in the middle of the way, the jittery leader stopped and started running back to the court when he saw police outside the IHC premises, fearing his arrest by the law personnel in some other case.
The TV channel showed out-of-breath Fawad after a good sprint back to the courtroom.
PTI leader Fawad informed Islamabad High Court’s Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb that authorities tried to arrest him despite the court granting bail to him.
The former information minister appeared before the judge again after rushing inside the court from his car over fears that he would be arrested again.
“You should have waited for the written order considering you are a practitioner yourself,” the judge said.
Fawad told the court that he will file a contempt of court case against the authorities.
The court also advised Fawad to file a contempt case and take a copy of the written order as well.
Talking to the media soon after his release, the PTI leader said that he reckons that we should give space to each other. He said it is his opinion that restraint should be shown from every side.
“We should find a solution, dialogue should be held. This country can’t afford restrictions,” he added.
But as soon as he finished talking with media and reached the court gate, police tried to arrest him again.
To avoid arrest, he raced back to the court and also stumbled.
IHC orders PTI leader’s release
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court ordered to release Fawad Ch after he submitted an affidavit, promising that he would never participate in any violent protest.
The court voided the earlier detention order issued by the district magistrate.
The Islamabad High Court also granted protective bail for two days to the PTI leader, advising him that he could resort to the concerned court during these two days.
The court also stopped authorities from arresting Fawad Ch in any other case.
IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb announced the reserved verdict on Tuesday.
Fawad calls for reconciliation
Earlier, talking to media, the PTI leader who is also a lawyer said that since country is suffering, all parties should go for reconciliation.
He said that 8,000 to 10,000 people have been arrested across the country. “It’s better if we go for reconciliation,” the PTI leader suggested.
“We will talk, if there is any law in the country,” he added.
Talking about arrests under the Army Official Secret Act, Fawad wondered how they could hold trials against their own people.
He lamented that political temperature is not going down, adding that many PTI leaders are in Adial Jail.
