Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman (PTI) Imran Khan has urged his party ticket holders to evade police arrest, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
“Keep yourself safe and avoid arrest by the police,” Imran Khan said while presiding over a meeting of PTI ticket holders.
“If you people stay safe, you will be able to convey the message of Tehreek-e-Insaf to people,” he added.
Police launched a hunt for the PTI members involved in the violent protest against the arrest of Imran Khan last week.
In the name of protest, PTI activists stormed GHQ in Rawalpindi, Corps Commander House in Lahore, Radio Pakistan Office in Peshawar and other sensitive installations.
According to sources, ex-PM Imran Khan assigned special tasks to the party ticket holders of Gujranwala and Muredke as he announced holding a power show in Muredke on May 18.
The insiders said the PTI chief stressed the party leaders and ticket holders should be optimistic as, according to him, things will be ‘fine in a couple of weeks’.
Most of the ticket holders attended the meeting through a video link.
Imran Khan has been on a campaign for a snap poll since his ouster from the PMO through a no-confidence motion.
He blamed his ouster on the US because of his independent foreign policy. However, Washington denied any wrongdoing.
Imran Khan dissolved the assemblies of KP and Punjab as his street show failed to bear fruit to press for the election.
The election commission put off the polls citing financial crisis and security concerns as reasons. The government seconded the ECP stance.
However, the top court ordered holding the elections as per the law. The coalition government described the court decision as an interference in its affairs.
