Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami has submitted a resolution to the Senate Secretariat, aiming to annul an earlier resolution passed by the Senate against the Supreme Court's decision on military courts.

The Senate had passed the resolution without prior agenda discussions, and Ahmed seeks to rectify this by challenging the passing of the resolution.

The controversial resolution, which disregarded Senate rules, had expressed disagreement with the Supreme Court's decision regarding military courts. Despite not being formally on the agenda, the resolution was passed.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed, in his resolution, underlines the Supreme Court's role as the guardian of the Constitution. The court had previously ruled that civilians should be tried in civilian courts, a decision that the Senate aims to challenge with the passed resolution.

The text of the resolution submitted by Ahmed emphasizes the Senate's support for the Supreme Court's decision on military courts, urging a reconsideration of the resolution that went against this stance.
