The test held under the auspices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) for the seats of assistant engineer in the Irrigation Department and C&W was declared cancelled on Thursday following reports of cheating, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
There were reports that cheating was done through electronic devices, which prompted the commission to declare the paper cancelled.
During the recruitment test for Assistant Engineering, 18 candidates were caught cheating in Peshawar on Wednesday.
After investigating the matter, the Public Service Commission decided to ban these 18 candidates for three years. They were accused of using electronic devices to cheat during the Assistant Engineer test.
As a consequence of the cheating incident, the Public Service Commission has chosen to cancel the results of the affected Assistant Engineer test.
Officials from the Public Service Commission took quick action by forming an inquiry committee.
Once the committee completed its investigation, those found guilty of cheating were given a three-year ban. This ban prevents them from participating in any PCS tests for three years.
