Former senator and senior leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Ilyas Ahmad Bilour passed away in Peshawar on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The late Bilour was the brother of Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Bashir Ahmad Bilour.
According to brother Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Ilyas was suffering from kidneys illness and was under treatment at a private hospital in Peshawar.
His Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered in Wazir Bagh, Peshawar, at 2:00 pm tomorrow (Sunday).
Ilyas Ahmad Bilour was born into a political family on 9 January 1940 in Peshawar from where he got his early education, earning his Faculty of Arts degree from the Edwards College.
He held a degree of Bachelor of Arts which he received from the University of Karachi in 1969. He also held the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing which he obtained from Al-Khair University, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in 1999.
Ilyas Ahmad Bilour had served as the managing director of the company Flour and General Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.
Ilyas had been elected to the Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of Awami National Party (ANP) in 2012.
President Zardari grieved
President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of former senator and ANP leader Ilyas Ahmad Bilour.
President Asif Zardari offered his heartfelt condolences to the family members of late Ilyas Bilour.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with patience.
