Fog, smog affect flight operation at Lahore Airport

Visibility problem due to fog and smog badly affected the flight operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

AirBlue flight 401 from Karachi to Lahore was diverted back to Karachi after circling Lahore for more than 10 minutes due to reduced visibility.

Moreover, flight 738 from Jeddah to Lahore will reach Lahore after 12 noon with a delay of 10 hours instead of 12 midnight.

AirSial flight 822 from Jeddah to Lahore was delayed till 7:30 pm while AirBlue flight 417 from Dubai to Lahore is delayed till 6 pm.

Flight 734 from Jeddah to Lahore will reach Lahore at 1.30 pm with a delay of three and a half hours while flight 501 of FlyJinah from Sharjah to Lahore has been cancelled.

The runway of Allama Iqbal International Airport is covered in heavy fog at this time and air pollution and fog have affected the landing and take-off of all the planes that do not have Cat I-3 system installed.
