Gun-and-grenade attack on Karachi Pakwan Centre goes off target

Unidentified assailants launched an gun-and-grenade attack on a restaurant located in Frontier Colony of Orangi Town in Karachi but luckily there were no casualties, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Saturday.
Police sources said that after the attack the accused also started indiscriminate firing on the Pakwan Centre but no one got hurt and the grenade did not explode.
Later a police team called the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) which arrived at the crime scene and defused the grenade.
The owner of the shop said that he was sleeping in his home but woke up after hearing heavy gunshots.
He found an unexploded grenade lying outside his shop. The owner outrightly denied having any enmity with anyone.
He also said that during 2022 he received an extortion note demanding money and FIR of the incident had been registered in Police Station Peerabad at that time.
The owner said that the police team arrested the accused and sent to him to jail. The accused who demanded extortion money from his was surprisingly his neighbour, the owner revealed
The 24News TV channel also obtained CCTV footage of the attack on Pakwan Centre. The video clearly showed that four masked assailants who were riding two motorcycles made several rounds of the shop, and then two accused lobbed grenade at the Center.
While the remaining two accused who were started firing. All the attackers were wearing helmet and caps and they fled away after committing the crime.
