Supreme Court of Pakistan has reconstituted three members bench which was set to hear Balochistan election tribunal petitions on November 20, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Earlier, three members bench was headed by Justice Athar Minallah. But now Supreme Court has replaced Justice Athar Minallah with Justice Shahid Waheed who will hear 3 cases on alleged rigging petition during general elections 2024.
Justice Irfan Saadat and Justice Aqeel Abbasi will be part of the bench. Mir Himal Khan had challenged the decision of the Election Tribunal in PB 28 Kech in Balochistan while another runner up Obaidullah has filed an appeal against the decision of the Election Tribunal in PB 44 Quetta.
Ali Madad Jatak had filed an appeal in Balochistan Assembly Constituency PB-45. The Supreme Court has reinstated PPP's Ali Madad Jatak on the injunction order. The Election Tribunal had ordered re-voting at 15 polling stations while de-seating Ali Madad Jatak.
