The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced central contracts for 16 women cricketers for the 2024-25 international season, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Captain Fatima Sana and wicketkeeper batsman Muniba Ali have been promoted to A category and left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal has been promoted to B category due to her recent good performance while Tasmia Rabab has bagged the central contract for the first time.
However, players who are not included in the central contract but will be available for selection.
Sameer Ahmed Syed Chief Operating Officer PCB said in this regard that central contracts reflect our future strategy as we are preparing for the new ICC Women's Future Tours programme.
PCB is committed to providing women cricketers with the resources, opportunities and support they need to perform at their best, Sameer Ahmed Syed said.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi showed his keen interest in encouraging women's cricket and that is why PCB more than doubling the players' retainers.
