Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member Punjab Assembly (MPA) Hina Pervez Butt on Saturday submitted a resolution in the assembly against hike in the petroleum products’ prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The resolution says that the opposition parties reject the government’s decision. “Increase in POL prices is not acceptable,” reads the resolution.
It adds that the government has made the increase in these products’ prices a habit which it repeats every fortnight.
“And since masses have been forced to starvation due to unprecedented price hike, the government must withdraw its notification of increase in the petroleum products’ prices,” the resolution demands.
Meanwhile speaking to the media, senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has said how unfortunate that just few hours after announcing hike in the electricity rates, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government dropped a petrol bomb on the people. “Such an increase is unprecedented. The saddest part is that the government notified the increase in the prices double than what had been recommended to it,” he said, adding that the government had made the life of a common man miserable since his buying capacity was shrinking with each passing day.

He reminded Prime Minister Imran Khan that he would often say prior to coming to power that he would commit suicide rather than going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “Shame on you Mr. Prime Minister! At least you can attempt suicide if not actually committing it,” he said.
Sanaullah appealed to the people to come out on roads to protest against massive inflation. “This is a time that we give a call for a Long March to Islamabad. And the people will definitely respond to our call,” he said emphatically.
PML-N leader was of the view that the ‘selected’ government would have to be shown the door to save the people from financial miseries.
