Federal Minister for Climate Change and PPP senior leader Senator Sherry Rehman has described Imran Khan’s contesting elections on seven National Assembly seats, from where the PTI MNAs had resigned, as a humiliation of PTI leaders and voters.
In a series of tweets uploaded on Sunday, Sherry Rehman said “He is humiliating his party leaders and voters by contesting elections on seven seats. He is insulting the mandate of the people this way.”
The minister advised the people to vote only for that candidate who can represent them in Parliament and be their voice. “Imran Khan has already run away from representing his own constituency,” she said and added “Imran Khan considers Parliament only as a ladder to power, not the axis of public power and representation.”
She further said “These parliamentarians want to come only if they are given the hope of a chair. People are requested not to waste their votes by voting for Imran Khan. Vote is a constitutional right and responsibility, use it thoughtfully for the good of yourself and your constituency.”
