Thunderstorms and strong winds Sunday caused K-electric’s extra high-tension lines to trip blacking out Karachi, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The electricity in major areas of Karachi including Federal b-area blocks, Yaseenabad, Gulshan block, Malir, Shah Faisal Town and the Airport was completely shut down.
It was stated that the electricity generators of the Karachi airport too failed to run, hence, suspending the flight operation.
