A meeting, led by caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, will decide on whether to announce a holiday in the educational institutions of Punjab to combat smog or not, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
During the meeting, the situation of smog in the province and the anti-smog campaign will be reviewed. A holiday on Wednesday will be announced if the meeting agrees.
Punjab ministers, the chief secretary and other officers concerned will attend the meeting.
The provincial ministers will inform the media about the decisions of the meeting in a press conference at 5 pm.
CM meets Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Morocco
Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Morocco Sami Malik called on caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The chief minister congratulated the ambassador-designate and expressed best wishes for him.
“There are immense opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in culture, tourism and trade,” Mohsin Naqvi pointed out.
“It is hoped that as an ambassador, you will further increase the mutual contacts at the public and government level,” he said to the ambassador-designate.
CM visits Lahore’s Band Road
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Monday paid a visit to Band Road in Lahore early in the morning and reviewed the Controlled Access Corridor project.
He reviewed the pace of work on the mega project being built from Niazi Chowk and Babu Sabu. He also reviewed other development projects on the site.
CM calls important meeting for slashing transport fares tomorrow
After a significant decrease in the POL prices, caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called an important meeting tomorrow to discuss immediate steps to slash transport fares.
The chief minister said that the benefit of the decrease in petroleum prices would be transferred directly to the people of the province.
