LCWU to hold classes online for next 3-day

In the wake of protests against harassment, Lahore College for Women University’s administration has announced that university will remain closed for further three days and classes will be held online, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The university will remain closed from October 16 to 18 and the administration claimed all classes will be held virtually for next 3 days. Registrar of the University has issued notification.


Earlier, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has denied the occurrence of any incident like the Punjab College. A LCWU spokesperson, however, said a committee comprising senior members of the university, had been formed to investigate a harassment complaint lodged by a student against a staff member.


The spokesperson claimed bus driver is allegedly involved in misbehaving and stalking. The staff member has been suspended with immediate effect. This inquiry is being conducted in accordance with the policies of the Higher Education Commission and the Punjab government on harassment,’ reads a press release. The spokesperson further said LCWU remained committed to ensuring a thorough and transparent process and providing a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for all students.
