The in-camera meeting of the parliament’s special committee will be held today at which consultations will be held to reach a consensus on the draft of the proposed constitutional amendments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Convener Syed Khursheed Shah will chair the meeting.
The drafts prepared by all political parties will be discussed at the meeting.
PTI members of the parliament, however, will not attend today’s meeting.
The meeting is going to be held a day after Maulana Fazl confirmed that the JUI and PPP had reached a consensus over proposed constitutional draft and both parties also agreed on the constitutional court.
Addressing a press conference with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto after a detailed meeting on the draft of proposed amendments, Fazl said that tomorrow they will meet PML-N president former PM Nawaz Sharif and take him into confidence on the draft. Fazl said that he wil also meet PTI leadership and tried my my best to convince them on it so that parliament can passes the legislation unanimously.
On the occasion, Bilawal said that PPP and JUI has always played key role whenever amendments were proposed and passed from the parliament. He hoped that PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif will endorse their draft.
He said Fazl wanted to take PTI on board and PPP will support him in this regard. He said PPP and Fazl had agreed on charter of democracy. He hoped PML-N will follow the constitution. Bilawal wished to seek support from all political parties.
