The federal government has decided to privatize 11 more state-owned enterprises, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday, quoting its sources.
The state-owned units which got approval for privatization included Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), Zarai Taraqqiyati Bank Limited (ZTBL), Utility Stores Corporation (USC), Pakistan Engineering Services Limited (PES) and Pakistan Investment Trust (PIT).
Sui Northern and Southern Gas companies (SNGPL and SNGPL) will also be privatized, the sources maintained.
The TV channel reported that Pakistan Expo Centres and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) will also be privatized.
Only key institutions will be kept under government’s control and non-essential institutions will be privatized. The process will be expedited, the TV channel said.
