A private university in Islamabad, Riphah Medical University, has been sealed after more than 16 cases of coronavirus were reported from the university, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The TV channel reported that the coronavirus cases were reported among the staff and students of Riphah Medical Unversity after which the authorities decided to shut it down.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) without naming the educational institution confirmed that a private university in the federal capital with 16 cases of coronavirus has been sealed.
The authorities said contact tracing is carried out to stop the spread of the pandemic and to find out how many more people have been affected due to these 16 and in what areas they are living in.
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan had reopened universities, colleges and schools throughout the country on Tuesday after remaining closed for more than six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
