Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi Saturday said that the students are being burdened due to the increasing oil prices and announced free transport for them on orange-line, metro train and metro busses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mohsin Naqvi visited the Lahore Ring Road Southern loop three project being constructed from Multan road till Adda plot. He said that this is a major project which has been launched after a long delay of 12 years and it is expected to be completed by December 31.
Reviewing the earthwork of the project from grand mosque Bahria town to Adda plot, he directed the authorities to utilize the additional resources and necessary machineries and complete the construction process.
He said the traffic coming from Multan comes into Lahore and this project will reduce the traffic on Multan road and Thokar Niaz Beg by giving them the route from outside the city and ultimately regulating the traffic in Lahore.
Talking about the public transports, Mohsin Naqvi said that the students are very burdened by the increasing oil prices. Everyone is preferring public transports over their own, hence, plans are underway with the private sector to increase the number of vehicles. The metro and orange-line ticket prices have not been raised despite the hike in oil prices. Air conditioners of various metro busses have been fixed and the situation at metro stations is better now.
