National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the issue of election seemed to have become a problem of someone’s personal ego, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
“If the role of the Parliament is to be restricted, let the judiciary carry out legislation. Then what is the need to carry out a farce of political activities for election? Let the judiciary make the law and have it implemented,” he pointed out during an interview.
“How can you come within the boundaries of the elected representatives? If you have come within the boundaries of the elected representatives, people will start moving into yours,” he pointed out.
“If you attack someone, what he will do is hit you with whatever he has got in his hand. I don’t want that we write a rejoinder,” he added.
“The issue of election seems to have become a problem of someone’s personal ego. This has never happened in the past. Everyone should be listened,” he emphasised.
“The government should not show obstinacy either. Political matters should never be taken to the court. Political matters should be settled in the Parliament,” he stressed.
“How can it be that we leave the Parliament if we cannot decide something in the Parliament? Political issues should be resolved by themselves,” he added.
