Additional Session Judge Islamabad has ordered the court bailiff to produce PTI leader Azam Swati before the court on Thursday from FIA custody, reported 24News HD TV channel.

Azam Swati’s counsel Sohail Khan approached Session Court Judge Ahmed Mehmood and said that the PTI leader was arrested by the FIA cybercrime wing even though Swati personally reached the FIA office on court orders to submit an explanation regarding his contentious tweets against top security officials.

The counsel contended that Swati reached the FIA office at 11am and FIA was not allowing lawyers to contact him, therefore the Counsel pleaded with the court that under section 491, the court should order his recovery.

On this, the court approved the request and ordered a bailiff to present Swati before the court on April 18, 2024.

The court had directed Swati to appear before the FIA cyber wing before April 20. Swati’s lawyers were still outside the office of FIA.
