Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz paid visits to naan/roti sale points to ensure the reduced rates are enforced.
The former prime minister asked the nanbais to implement the cut price and the chief minister paid a check on the official price list.
The people gathered around the duo appreciated the ‘inspection’.
Nawaz and Maryam urged the people to feed them back on the matter.
The Punjab chief minister retold the people about the reduced rates and asked them to report about the overcharging.
Nawaz and Maryam also ordered the salespersons to post the new price notifications on walls for 'public awareness'.
The Punjab government has brought down the prices of roti and naan and the authorities sprang into action to enforce the reduced rates.
However, the nanbais association rejected the rates stressing that they were not taken on board.
