PM Shehbaz expected to visit Saudi Arabia on April 28

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to visit Saudi Arabia on April 28 and 29, sources said on Wednesday.


According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the sources said there is a possibility of finalizing today's agreements during the PM’s two-day visit to the Kingdom.


However, they added the deals would be sealed during the Saudi Crown Prince's visit to Pakistan in May.


Saudi Arabia is organizing the World Economic Forum on April 28 and 29, the sources said adding that the leaders from around the world will participate in the forum.


A Saudi delegation has been on a two-day visit to Pakistan and according to state media, Pakistan and the Kingdom have reiterated their resolve to build a strong partnership and further promote economic cooperation for the mutual benefit.


The Associated Press of Pakistan reported on Tuesday the two brotherly states renewed the resolve during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.


The Saudi foreign minister was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, comprising the Minister of Water and Agriculture, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Assistant Minister of Investment, the Head of the Saudi Special Committee and senior officials from the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Public Investment Fund.


Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Privatization and Board of Investment Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Petroleum and Water Resources Minister Musadik Masood Malik, Industries and Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi and senior officials also attended the meeting.
