Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Jamal Bakr Abdullah, Thursday met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday to discuss a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues, according to a spokesperson of the Ethiopian Embassy.

The meeting underscored the growing Ethiopia-Pakistan bilateral relations, with special focus on the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines’ operations from Karachi, a move expected to enhance people-to-people and business connectivity between the two nations.

Both dignitaries explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in promoting peace and stability, and addressed key global challenges including climate change, terrorism, and maritime piracy.

Ambassador Abdullah extended congratulations to Minister Naqvi on two significant milestones — his recent appointment as President of the Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan’s hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Naqvi, who also serves as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, appreciated the ambassador’s warm gestures.

Highlighting the importance of multilateral engagement, the ambassador stressed the need for joint efforts to ensure international peace and prosperity, stating that Ethiopia and Pakistan continue to collaborate at global forums on security and development matters.

Minister Naqvi affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation and assured the Ethiopian envoy of continued support to advance mutual interests between the two countries.
