Polling began on Thursday for by-election in Umerkot’s National Assembly’s constituency NA-213, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Polling for the by-election will continue without any break until 5:00 pm.
Votes reached polling stations early in the morning to cast their votes.
Pakistan People's Party's Saba Talpur and opposition joint candidate Lal Malhi are locked in a tough contest.
A total of 498 polling stations has been set up for the by-election in Umerkot out of which 91 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive and 269 polling stations declared sensitive.
As many as 4,200 police personnel have been deployed for the security of polling stations.
