Two Himalayan brown bears from Islamabad’s Murghazar Zoo reached Doha, Qatar on their way to Jordan at 6AM on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Earlier, both the bears namely Babloo and Suzi, left Islamabad Airport for Jordan on board a Qatar Airlines flight. A team of international animal rights organisation, Four Paws, also accompanied the bears.
In this connection, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials had made special arrangements at the airport for boarding of the animals. The bears will now fly to Jordan where they will be kept at Al Mawa Sanctuary.
The Marghazar Zoo in Islamabad which drew international condemnation for its treatment of lonely elephant Kaavan closed on December 16 after its final occupants were relocated abroad.
